Advice on hydration

 

The consumption of fruit, vegetables and juice is an excellent way to hydrate our organism.

 

Drink lots of liquids during the course of the day, especially during the summer months and more if you exercise.

 

Always have a bottle of water with you.  Also, keep a bottle of water in the car for an emergency.

 

Drink a glass of water before going to bed and one as soon as you get up in the morning.  Eight hours is too long a period to stay without water.

 

It is preferable to drink water rather than other hydration liquids like coffee, soft drinks and fruit drinks. 

 

Caffeine and alcohol have a diuretic reaction and intensify the loss of fluids.  See to it that you replenish this excess loss. 

 

Drinks which contain caffeine like coffee, tea and soft drinks like cola, actually dehydrate the body because they use up more water than they supply; the same applies for all alcoholic drinks. 

 

Do not wait until you’re thirsty before you drink water.  Thirst is a sign of dehydration. 

 

Drinking purified water is the very best way to remain hydrated…. Drinking water is the best method to hydrate!
